Orange County, Indiana (Map It) was created on February 1, 1816 from Gibson County, Knox County and Washington County. This county was named for Orange County, North Carolina, in turn named for the Dutch Protestant House of Orange.
Orange County is bordered by  Lawrence County (north), Washington County (east), Crawford County (south), Dubois County (southwest), Martin County (northwest).
