Jackson County, Michigan (Map It) was created on October 29, 1829 from Washtenaw County and unorganized territory . The county was named for Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), 7th President of the United States and President when Michigan was admitted to the Union .
Jackson County is bordered by Livingston County (northeast), Ingham County (north), Eaton County (northwest), Washtenaw County (east), Calhoun County (west), Lenawee County (southeast), Hillsdale County (southwest).

- Jackson County Register of Deeds has Land from 1830.The County Register of Deeds is the official recording officer for all legal documents pertaining to the transfers and encumbrances of all real estate property within the County. The Register also provides permanent storage for approved original subdivision plats, condominiums, land surveys and section corners.
