Knox County, Kentucky (Map It) was created on December 19, 1799 from Lincoln County. The county was named in honor of Henry Knox, United States Secretary of War (1785–1794) .
Knox County is bordered by Clay County (northeast), Bell County (southeast), Whitley County (southwest), Laurel County (northwest).
