Spencer County, Indiana (Map It) was created on February 1, 1818 from Perry County and Warrick County. This county was named for Capt. Spier Spencer, hero of the Battle of Tippecanoe.
Spencer County is bordered by  Dubois County (north), Perry County (east), Hancock County, Kentucky (southeast), Daviess County, Kentucky (south), Warrick County (west).
