Glynn County, Georgia (Map It) was created on February 5, 1777 from St David and St Patrick Parishes. Glynn County was named in honor of John Glynn (1722 - 79), British Member of Parliament and Serjeant-at-law, who was sympathetic with the cause of American independence.
