Camden County, Georgia (Map It) was created on February 5, 1777 from St Mary and St Thomas Parishes. Camden County was named in honor of Sir Charles Pratt, 1st Earl Camden (1714 - 94), Lord Chancellor of Great Britain who was sympathetic to the cause of the Revolution.

Camden County is bordered by  Glynn County (north), Nassau County, Florida (south), Charlton County (southwest), Brantley County (northwest)
