Rockbridge County, Virginia (Map It) was created in January 12, 1778 from Augusta County and Botetourt County. Part of Botetourt County was added in 1785. Rockbridge county was named for the Natural Bridge.
Rockbridge County is bordered by Bath County (northwest), Augusta County (northeast), Nelson County (east), Amherst County (southeast), Bedford County (south), Botetourt County (southwest), Alleghany County (west).
Rockbridge County Cities and Towns include Glasgow, Goshen, Brownsburg (unincorporated) and Raphine (unincorporated) .
