Webster County, Mississippi (Map It) was created on April 6, 1874 from Chickasaw County, Montgomery County, Choctaw County and Oktibbeha County. The county was named in honor of Daniel Webster, U.S. Senator from Massachusetts and giant of Nineteenth Century politics .
Webster County is bordered by Calhoun County (north), Chickasaw County (northeast), Clay County (east), Oktibbeha County (southeast), Choctaw County (south), Montgomery County (west) and Grenada County (northwest).
