Wadena County, Minnesota (Map It) was created on June 11, 1858 (Organized in 1881) from Cass County and Todd County. The county was named for the Wadena Trading Post, derived from an Ojibway word meaning "a little round hill".
Wadena County is bordered by Hubbard County (north), Cass County (east,northeast), Todd County (south), Otter Tail County (southwest), Becker County (northwest).
