Calhoun County, Georgia (Map It) was created on February 20, 1854 from Baker County and Early County. Calhoun County was named in honor of John C. Calhoun (1782 - 1850), a U.S. Congressman, a U.S. Senator, and Vice President of the United States from South Carolina.

Calhoun County is bordered by  Terrell County ( northeast), Dougherty County (east), Baker County (southwest), Early County (southwest), Clay County (west), Randolph County (northwest).

Calhoun County, GA Courthouse

The Calhoun County Courthouse is located in Morgan, Georgia. The county courthouse has burned down in 1888 and again in 1920.
