Jackson County, Wisconsin (Map It) was created on February 11, 1853 from La Crosse County. The county was named in honor of Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), President of the United States 1829–1837.

Jackson County is bordered by Clark County (north), Wood County (east), Juneau County (southeast), Monroe County (south), La Crosse County (southwest), Trempealeau County (west), Eau Claire County (northwest).
