Bland County, Virginia Records

Bland County, Virginia (Map It) was created in March 30, 1861 from Giles County, Wythe County and Tazewell County. An additional part of Giles County was added in 1900. Bland county was named for Richard Bland, member of the Continental Congress and publisher of the American Revolutionary War-era tract An Inquiry into the Rights of the British Colonies.

Bland County is bordered by Mercer County, West Virginia (north), Giles County (northeast), Pulaski County (southeast), Wythe County (south), Smyth County (southwest), Tazewell County (west).
