Wheeler County, Nebraska (Map It) was created on February 17, 1877 from Unorganized area of the Nebraska Territory. The county was named in honor of Daniel H. Wheeler, a secretary of the Nebraska State Board of Agriculture.
Wheeler County is bordered by Antelope County (northeast), Boone County (southeast), Greeley County (south), Garfield County (west), Holt County (north).
