Chase County, Nebraska (Map It) was created on February 27, 1873 from Unorganized area of the Nebraska Territory. The county was named in honor of Champion S. Chase, a mayor of Omaha, Nebraska who served as Nebraska's first attorney general.

Chase County is bordered by Hayes County  (east), Dundy County  (south), Yuma County, Colorado  (southwest), Phillips County, Colorado  (west), Perkins County  (north).

Attached for administrative purposes to Frontier County until 1877, then to Hales County until 1886.
