Pasco County, Florida (Map It) was created on June 2, 1887 from Hernando County. Pasco County was named for Samuel Pasco (1834–1917), United States Senator at the time of creation of the county.
Pasco County is bordered by Hernando County (north), Sumter County (northeast), Polk County (southeast), Hillsborough County (south), Pinellas County (southwest).

Pasco Co. Historical Events:
- This region was first visited by white men when Navae's army passed through in 1528.
- The Indian Population: at that time was small.
