Wythe County, Virginia (Map It) was created in December 01, 1789 from Montgomery County. Part of Grayson County was added in 1825. Wythe county was named for George Wythe, legal scholar and signer of the Declaration of Independence .
Wythe County is bordered by Smyth County (west), Bland County (north), Pulaski County (northeast), Carroll County (southeast), Grayson County (south).
