Johnson County, Texas (Map It) was created on February 13, 1854 from McLennan County. This county was named for Middleton Tate Johnson, a Texas Ranger, soldier in the Mexican-American War, and senator for the Republic of Texas .

- Johnson County Clerk has Birth & Death Records from 1860 for Birth; 1885 for death, Marriage Records from 1854, Land Records from 1854, Probate Records from 1854 and Court Records from 1852.
