Brief Directory Description:
I have access at a local library to the Portland, Oregon edition of The Oregonian which began publication in 1850. Please be sure the person you are requesting a lookup for died in a town in the Portland Metro area (Multnomah, Clackamas & Washington Counties) before making your request. Older editions will contain only funeral notices. Obituaries were reserved for the very prominent. However, the funeral notices usually contain the names of survivors.
