Toombs County, Georgia (Map It) was created on August 18, 1905 from Emanuel County, Tattnall County, and Montgomery County. Toombs County was named in honor of General Robert Toombs (1810 - 85), a U.S. Senator and the Confederate States Secretary of State.
Toombs County is bordered by  Emanuel County (north), Tattnall County (east), Appling County (south), Jeff Davis County (southwest), Montgomery County (west).
