Evans County, Georgia (Map It) was created on August 11, 1914 from Bulloch County and Tattnall County . Evans County was named in honor of General Clement Anselm Evans (1832 - 1911), a hero of the War between the States and the commander in chief of the United Confederate Veterans.
Evans County is bordered by  Candler County (northeast), Bulloch County (northeast), Bryan County (east), Liberty County (southeast), Tattnall County (southwest).
