McIntosh County, Georgia Records

McIntosh County, Georgia (Map It) was created on December 19, 1793 from Liberty County. McIntosh County was named in honor of General Lachlan McIntosh (1727 - 1806), a hero of the Revolutionary War.

McIntosh County is bordered by  Liberty County (north), Glynn County (south), Wayne County (west), Long County (northwest)

McIntosh County, GA Courthouse

The McIntosh County Courthouse is located in Darien, Georgia. In 1864, Union troops burned down the courthouse, all records were destroyed.
