McDuffie County, Georgia (Map It) was created on October 18, 1870 from Columbia County and Warren County. McDuffie County was named in honor of George McDuffie (1790 - 1851), famous orator and governor of South Carolina.

McDuffie County is bordered by  Lincoln County ( northeast), Columbia County (east), Richmond County (east-southeast), Jefferson County (south), Warren County (west), Wilkes County (northwest)
