Dade County, Georgia (Map It) was created on December 25, 1837 from Walker County. Dade County was named in honor of Major Francis L. Dade (1793 - 1835), a hero of the Seminole War.
Dade County is bordered by  Marion County, Tennessee (north), Hamilton County, Tennessee (northeast), Walker County (southwest), DeKalb County, Alabama (southwest), Jackson County, Alabama (west)

The Dade County Courthouse is located in Trenton, Georgia. County Courthouse burned in April 1853 and the second one was 21 November 1863. Some records were destroyed.
