Carroll County, Georgia Records

Carroll County, Georgia (Map It) was created on June 9, 1825 from lands ceded by the Creek Indians in 1825 in the Treaty of Indian Springs. Carroll County was used to create Campbell County (1828), Heard County (1830), Haralson County (1856), and Douglas County (1870) . Carroll County was named in honor of Charles Carroll (1737 - 1832), the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Carroll County is bordered by  Paulding County (north), Douglas County (east), Fulton County (east), Coweta County, Heard County (south), Randolph County, Alabama (southwest), Cleburne County, Alabama (west), Haralson County (northwest)

• Carroll County Clerk of Superior Court has Land Records from 1827 and Court Records from 1827. The County Clerk of Superior Court has jurisdiction over cases for title to land and equity, felony cases, adoptions, divorces, child support and custody enforcement.
