Ware County, Georgia (Map It) was created on December 15, 1824 from Appling County. Portions of Ware County were used to create the following counties: Clinch County in 1850, Coffee County in 1854, Pierce County in 1857, and Bacon County in 1914. Ware County was named in honor of Nicholas Ware (1769 - 1824), a U.S. Senator (1821 - 24).
Ware County is bordered by  Bacon County (north), Pierce County (east), Brantley County (east), Charlton County (south), Baker County, Florida (south), Atkinson County (west), Clinch County (west), Coffee County (northwest)

The Ware County Courthouse is located in Waycross, Georgia. The County Courthouse was destroyed by fire in 1873, all records were destroyed.

- Ware County Clerk of Superior Court has Land Records from 1874 and Court Records from 1874.
