Coffee County, Georgia Records

Coffee County, Georgia (Map It) was created on February 9, 1854 from Clinch County, Irwin County, Telfair County, and Ware County. Portions of Coffee County were used to create Berrien County (1856), Jeff Davis County (1905), and Atkinson County (1917) . Coffee County was named in honor of General John E. Coffee (1782 - 1836), a hero of the War of 1812.

Coffee County is bordered by  Telfair County (north), Jeff Davis County (northeast), Bacon County (east), Ware County, Atkinson County (south), Berrien County (southwest), Irwin County (west), Ben Hill County (west).
