Kleberg County, Texas (Map It) was created on February 27, 1913 from Nueces County. This county was named for Robert Justus Kleberg (1803–1888), an early German settler and soldier at the Battle of San Jacinto .

Kleberg County is bordered by Nueces County (north), Kenedy County (south), Brooks County (southwest), Jim Wells County (west).
