Broward County, Florida (Map It) was created on April 30, 1915 from Dade County and Palm Beach County. Broward County was named for Napoleon Bonaparte Broward (1857–1910), 19th Governor of Florida from 1905 to 1909.

Broward County is bordered by Palm Beach County (north), Miami-Dade County (south), Collier County (west), Hendry County (northwest) .
