Trigg County, Kentucky (Map It) was created on January 27, 1820 from Christian County and Caldwell County. The county was named in honor of Stephen Trigg (1744–1782), military colonel killed at the Battle of Blue Licks .
Trigg County is bordered by Lyon County (north), Caldwell County (northeast), Christian County (east), Stewart County, Tennessee (south), Calloway County (southwest), Marshall County (northwest).
