Brief Directory Description
Professional Genealogist with more than 34 years experience. I take a compassionate person-centered approach, drawing upon my Sociology and Master of Divinity degrees and chaplaincy training. My Father sparked my passion for genealogy with the Gooch Family Newsletter he edited in the early to mid 1990s. While my "business" is genealogy, I do not send bills to any of my clients - see my website for details.
Volunteer Research Description
We are blessed with many great repositories:
- National Archives at Atlanta
- Georgia Archives
- Atlanta History Center
- Auburn Avenue Research Library
- Georgia Historical Society
...and many university libraries and local historical societies.
While I do much online and in-archive research, I am most interested on digitizing old records and capturing oral histories. I love digging into old records and piecing together family documentation..
Am currently concentrating on getting information migrated into familysearch.org and findagrave.com

Earl went above and beyond for my request. He not only tracked down the information in the Georgia Archives that I originally asked for—it turned out to be the date and an index entry—he was able to find the digitized version of the original document at the archives. Since I'm descended from a lot of Georgians, I'm sure I'll be asking him for help again when I need something tracked down in the Georgia Archives.
