Boone County, Illinois (Map It) was created on March 4, 1837 from Winnebago County. Boone County was named for Daniel Boone (1734-1820), trailblazer of the Wilderness Road in Kentucky .

Boone County is bordered by  Rock County, Wisconsin (north), Walworth County, Wisconsin (northeast), McHenry County (east), DeKalb County (south), Ogle County (southwest), Winnebago County (west)

  • Boone County Clerk & Recorder of Deeds has Marriage Records from 1838, Birth & Death Records from 1877 and Land Records from 1838. The County Clerk & Recorder of Deeds maintains records and issues certificates of vital statistics (birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates) for the entire County.
