Bonner County, Idaho (Map It) was created on February 21, 1907 from Kootenai County. Bonner County was named in honor of Edwin L. Bonner, originator of a 1864 ferry service on the Kootenai River.
Bonner County is bordered by Boundary County (north), Lincoln County, Montana (east), Sanders County, Montana, Shoshone County, Kootenai County (south), Spokane County, Washington (southwest), Pend Oreille County, Washington (northwest).
