Gila County, Arizona (Map It) was created on February 8, 1881 from Parts of Maricopa County and Pinal County. Gila county was named Gila River, a river that flows through Arizona, whose name comes from a Pima Indian word. .

Gila County is bordered by Yavapai County (northwest), Maricopa County (west), Pinal County (south), Graham County (southeast), Navajo County (east, northeast), Coconino County (north).

Gila County Cities and Towns include Globe, Hayden, Miami, Payson, Star Valley, Winkelman. Unincorporated Communities located in the county include Kohls Ranch, Punkin Center.

The Gila County Courthouse is located in Globe, Arizona. The Clerk's Office DOES NOT DO RESEARCH. Most staff will assist people in finding the materials, but it is up to the individual to do the research.
