Statewide California Census<\/strong> records that exist are 1850<\/a>, 1860<\/a>, 1870<\/a>, 1880<\/a>, 1890<\/a> (fragment, see below), 1900<\/a>, 1910<\/a>, 1920<\/a>, 1930<\/a> and 1940<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are Industry<\/a> and Agriculture<\/a> Schedules 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880.\u00a0The Mortality Schedules<\/a> for the years 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. The Union Veterans Schedules<\/a> exist for 1890.<\/p>\n

Missing from the 1850 federal census are the population schedules for Contra Costa, San Francisco, and Santa Clara counties, making the 1852 state census even more useful.\u00a0California\u2019s 1849 state constitution dictated that a census be taken in 1852, in 1855, and every 10 years after that but The 1852 census was the only one taken.
