When Crawford County was created, it contained a large part of what is now the State of Oklahoma. Crawford County was named in honor of William H. Crawford<\/a>\u00a0(1772\u20131834), a politician who served as\u00a0Secretary of the Treasury and\u00a0Secretary of War. <\/p>\n\n
