Bulloch County, Georgia<\/strong> (Map It<\/a>)<\/em> was created on February 8, 1796<\/strong> from Bryan County<\/a> and Screven County<\/a>\u00a0. Portions of Bulloch County were used to create Jenkins County<\/a> (1905), Candler County<\/a> (1914), and Evans County<\/a> (1914) . Bulloch County was named in honor of Archibald Bulloch<\/a>\u00a0(1729 - 77),\u00a0Revolutionary War<\/a>\u00a0soldier, Speaker of the\u00a0Georgia House of Representatives, and acting\u00a0governor of Georgia (1775 - 77). <\/p>\n\n

Bulloch County<\/strong> is bordered by \u00a0Screven County<\/a> (north), Effingham County<\/a> (east), Bryan County<\/a>, Evans County<\/a> (southwest), Candler County<\/a> (west), Emanuel County<\/a> (northwest), Jenkins County<\/a> (north-northwest).<\/p>\n\n
