\"militaryAlabama residents have served in many wars throughout the state’s history. So, both federal and state records pertaining to Alabama residents in the military exist.\u00a0The National Archives has the largest collection.<\/p>\n

Soldiers who lived and died in the state during the time of the Revolutionary War, and some soldiers who died outside the state, are included in Roster of Revolutionary Soldiers and Patriots Alabama.<\/p>\n

Some dates has been compiled from various sources. The resulting volume includes soldiers’ names, names of their spouses, names of their children, and names of their parents. It also includes records of their military services and other useful information.<\/p>\n

Files of military service surnames have been microfilmed by the Alabama Department of Archives and History and are available to researchers. Those files include:<\/p>\n
